The report has been published today, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heacademy.ac.uk\/alldisplay?type=news&amp;newid=2014\/the_pedagogy_of_the_MOOC&amp;site=york\">is available to download<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report details the UK MOOC landscape, and shares findings from interviews with MOOC teachers.<\/p>\n<p>The three key concluding messages the report emphasises are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>MOOCs are multiple: we can no longer define them either as a single \u2018transformative\u2019 entity or clearly position them in terms of the previously dominant cMOOC\/xMOOC binary.<\/li>\n<li>MOOC pedagogy is not embedded in MOOC platform, but is negotiated and emergent, a sociomaterial and discipline-informed issue.<\/li>\n<li>The teacher persists in the MOOC: though reworked and disaggregated, the teaching function and teacherly professionalism remain central.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last autumn, Sian and I were commissioned by the \u00a0Higher Education Academy in the UK to write a report about MOOC pedagogy.
